A Stochastic Petri Net Model for O&M Planning of Floating Offshore Wind Turbines

With increasing deployment of offshore wind farms further from shore and in deeper waters, the efficient effective planning operation maintenance (O&M) activities has received considerable attention energy developers operators recent years. The O&M is a complicated task, as it depends on many factors such asset degradation rates, availability resources required to perform tasks (e.g., transport vessels, service crew, spare parts, special tools) well uncertainties associated with weather climate variability. A brief review literature shows that lot research been conducted optimizing schedules for fixed-bottom turbines; however, floating too limited. This paper presents stochastic Petri network (SPN) model turbines (FOWTs) their support structure components, including platform, moorings anchoring system. proposed incorporates all interrelationships between different influencing FOWTs, deterioration renewal process components within Relevant data failure rate, mean-time-to-failure (MTTF), etc. are collected industry databases, then tested an NREL 5 MW reference turbine system mounted OC3-Hywind spar buoy platform. results indicate our can significantly contribute reduction costs sector.
